Carden Family,
I am posting pictures for the Gathering on Facebook where I have better ability to manage the privacy. If you would like copies of the pictures and cannot access them on Facebook, let me know and I will get them to you.
When Dan Carden provides the group pictures, I will create a secure drive where you can pull down copies.
Have a wonderful day! Hope to see you on the boat this afternoon!

Good Morning Cardens!
The weekend is finally here and I can feel the excitement! Glad to have already seen most of our UK Carden contingent and had dinner with Robert Glenn Carden of Alabama last evening. I know the Gilliams have made it to town as well as some of the Tennessee Cardens.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at our opening get-together. We will be there at 4:30 - come anytime between then and 9:00.
We are in the Embassy Suites, Mercury Salon A. When you come in the door, just head straight back to the Salons and look for our table on the right.

All,
I had promised an Agenda before today - we are still finalizing details!
The high level schedule is:
Friday evening - we will be open for Registration and socializing from 4:30 - 9 in Mercury Salon A.
Saturday - After breakfast on your own, our activities will begin at 9:00 AM in Mercury Salon A.
We will break for lunch on your own at 11:45 and reconvene at 1:30.
At approximately 3:00 we will have an afternoon break with snacks provided.
The afternoon sessions will end by 5:30 and our evening buffet will be served at 6:15.
We will have the room available to us until 9:00 for after dinner socializing.
Sunday - be at the waterfront by 1:30 for our 2:00 cruise around the Historic Hampton Harbor
Cost:
Our attendance is turning out to be lower than we had anticipated based on initial notes of interest, however we are striving to keep the cost affordable for all who are planning to attend.
We will be collecting $100 per person for those planning to attend all day Saturday (includes evening meal and afternoon break.)
If you are attending Saturday banquet only, the cost is $40 per person.
This will still leave us with a deficit so any additional donations will be appreciated!
The Sunday afternoon cruise on the Miss Hampton is $25 per person. A snack bar is available on the boat.

Happy Saturday Cardens!
Next week we'll be greeting each other in person and I am so excited! I'll be publishing a weekend agenda here this weekend and printed copies will be available when you arrive next weekend.
I will be arriving in Hampton Wednesday evening - if you need anything last minute, please let me or Eddie know.
We have had to make a slight change in plans for Sunday. It turns out that our River Cruise to the winery has been pre-empted as the boat is being used for a funeral on Sunday. So, fall back to Plan B!
We will now be taking a shorter cruise on the Miss Hampton. This is a 3 hour cruise that will begin at 2:00 Sunday afternoon. This will give everyone time to attend local church services, if so inclined, have lunch and then board the ship for a cruise around the Hampton Roads Harbor. Cost for this cruise is $25. There are snacks and drinks available on board the boat.
If you are looking for church services Sunday morning, the major denominations are well represented in Hampton but there are some historic churches that are worth checking out.
St Johns Church has been in its present location since 1728 and is the oldest continuous English speaking Parish in the US. The Queen Street Baptist Church was established in 1865 by African Americans from Williamsburg. For more information, browse the Hampton Visitor's guide from the two links provided.
Stay tuned to the blog as we continue to provide information for your visit!

Now - if you don't see your name on the list, and you plan to attend, please take the time to complete the registration form here on the blog so we can appropriately plan for food, etc.
Also - if any of you are planning to bring Family Trees, pictures or other presentation materials to share with the group, please let me know so we can plan to have easels, tables, etc. to share your data.
If you need to have any materials printed for you, try to get them to us ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
We do look forward to seeing everyone and sharing Family history, comparing notes, and sharing Carden knowledge and lore!
Andrea, Beth, Eddie and Eddie
